Omega Universe Downloads

Last update: 2 March 2011

At Precinct Omega, we love giving you free stuff as often as we can afford it.

As promised, the full PDF version of the rules has now been removed from our free downloads, but you can instead download a stripped-down versions of the rules, we’re calling Skrapyard: Raw Rules.

The Raw Rules include all the rules from the full rulebook, with the explanatory text and background stuff removed. It’s also been reduced to A5 size, whilst the text has been kept at full size, to make it the perfect reference document on smart phones and tablet computers. Moreover, we’ve incorporated some of the feedback from our open beta testers to amend the original rules very slightly where the originals were unclear or contradictory in places.

If you’re new to Skrapyard, though, and aren’t sure whether you want to go to the lengths of buying the rulebook yet, we’re pleased to announce that a quickstart version of the rules will be released in the next couple of weeks.  This will be designed to get you playing as quickly as possible, with the rules divided into three sections: Essential, Additional and Advanced rules, so you can get going with the Essential rules to see the basic structure of the game before adding in the Additional rules for increased tactical challenge and, finally, including the Advanced rules for maximum depth and a full taste of the Skrap World.

Meanwhile, you can still download this free scenario, designed for Hammerhead 2011:

There’s No Place Like Home

And for those who don’t have access to the rules for heroes and followers, we have two sample skrapgangs to get you started.  Designed for the “No Place Like Home” scenario above, they are slightly smaller than full skrapgangs, making them ideal starting forces for learning the rules:

Finally, for those of you who just hate old fashioned printed books, or who just like getting a good deal, we will be re-releasing the updated PDF version of the 0th Edition in due course, but for a small fee.  This will happen just as soon as we can sort out the technical challenges involved.
